PETALING JAYA: Palette Multimedia Bhd’s chairman and managing director Eg Kah Yee said MyEG Services Bhd’s managing director Wong Thean Soon was “unprofessional” when he made a statement towards the group’s stock recently.
Wong, who was responding to news reports published last week, said he has sold off his holdings in Palette and will refrain from making any passive investments in listed equities in the future.
“I have no idea why he had to announce it. It was really unprofessional,” Eg told reporters after the group’s AGM today.
“To me that was uncalled for. No one asked him to do that,” he added.
Palette’s share price slipped 12.35% to 35.5 sen yesterday following Wong’s statement. At 3.10pm, it gained 4 sen or 11.3% to 39.5 sen, with some 28.07 million shares changing hands.
Earlier at the AGM, the group received its shareholders’ nod to change its name to UCrest Bhd.
